What Happened?!

So it's 5:30am. I up a little early peering out the bedroom window. Several nights ago I spent an hour after work trying to program our automatic sprinkler system. Reading through the poorly written manual my eyes started to glass over. The sprinkler system had a level of complexity comparable to the Fortran programming class I took freshman year at Michigan State. After guessing about how many “lawn zones” the former owner had created and deciding whether to go with calendar intervals over time intervals I thought I had it licked.

So the sun is just starting to come up and Ting and Zoe are still sound asleep. I’m creeping out on the back deck in my boxer shorts since I’m not sure if the sprinklers are actually going to work or not. The grass is looking uneven and in need of fertilizer in places. Hmmm… Gotta get a lawn mower AND some fertilizer! Or is it maybe a lack of watering? And slowly I’m realizing that I have finally become the suburbanite I always feared!

Ting, Zoe, and I have been in the Yellow House for about two weeks. There’s still a lot of boxes and piles of stuff all over the place. We’ve been thinking of washers and dryers and lawnmowers and neglecting our close friends. So many of you have asked about pictures and frankly we’ve been just too busy to get anything up on the Internet. Ting took a few picts while we were painting the interior; hence the plastic wrap. Feel free to drop us a line as we’re starting to get settled in. Look for an e-mail with our new address, phone #, and e-mail address soon!
